Struck from one ounce of 99.9% pure gold, the reverse design features the iconic logo of the Jurassic Park film series. Dinosaurs have always been popular, especially among children who uséd their sand boxes to recreate the prehistoric world of these extinct thunder lizards. But “dinomania” really took off following the release of the 1993 film Jurassic Park that brought these terrifying creatures to life. Today, the Jurassic World film franchise has grossed more than $5 billion over the course of five feature films. It’s also spawned several coin releases, including this magnificent coin that features new minting technology that’s sure to appeal to coin collectors and film fans alike. The coin’s reverse features the iconic logo of the Jurassic Park film series: the silhouetted image of a T-Rex skeleton. In large letters below, the precious metal content: 1 oz 999 PURE GOLD. In small letters around above left, the copyright acknowledgement: ©UCS LLC and Amblin. The obverse of the coin shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the “Fourth Portrait”). The Queen wears the “Girls of Great Britain and Ireland” diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty’s grandmother) in 1947 – which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits. In small letters below the head, the artist’s initials IRB (for Ian Rank-Broadley). Around the effigy is the monarch’s legend, the date of issue and the value: ELIZABETH II NIUE 2021 250 DOLLARS.
